Over the past 8 months or so, I have been dabbling in the world of essential oils. I'll be honest, at first I was skeptical because when I asked how they help the only answer I would receive is "they support you" - and that seemed very vague to me. But alas! I have used them enough to form my own list of favourites, so I guess I am one of those people now. Regardless of my past self judging me, I couldn't be happier because I genuinely enjoy using them and feel they do give me the "support" I need.
As a life-long acne sufferer, and woman with hormonal acne due to PCOS, I can confirm that this brand is the best quality Tea Tree for your skin. It works to make improvements even overnight! I also use it in my homemade all-purpose cleaner, which I will have the recipe for up on the blog soon. For any essential oil lover (new or seasoned) this oil is a must.
Lovely, lovely lavender. This brand is more herbal-scented and not perfume-y, which is a major bonus to an already wonderful oil. I rub some on my chest and neck when I am trying to wind down to go to sleep, and in my DIY deodorant.
This blend is an absolute life-saver for times when anxiety, panic, or depressive moods hit. Not that there is anything wrong with feeling negative emotions (because each is a beautiful part of our human experience), but your stress response in those times is taxing on your bod. This blend helps support your bod and brings you back into, well, balance!
Oakmoss & Bergamot
I use this primarily for DIY projects. This blend has such a fresh and beautiful scent! It is like fresh laundry had a child with an ocean breeze and then that child grew up and became a body builder and went on steroids. But better than what I just described. It is my favourite in my homemade all-purpose cleaner, and I also add a few drops to my DIY natural deodorant.
Grapefruit & Bergamot
My morning routine is not complete without diffusing this guy. It is refreshing and energizing, and my favourite way to get my day started.
Moon Goddess Blend
Want to feel more like a goddess in your daily life? This is the oil for you. While it is actually an anointing oil, I wanted to include this on my list because every time I dab it on my wrists I feel divinely feminine, beautiful, and sultry. There is something about the jasmine scent that brings out that side of me and transforms me into my Moon Goddess persona.
I am not telling you that you need to go buy these. I am merely telling you that I have found value in using them, and they have improved my self-care routine. Self-love and self-care can look different for everyone, so explore what works best for you.
